There's a music CD called " Push the Button" by the band "The
Chemical Brothers". The signature track on the CD is called
"Galvanize". It's all about "pushing the button" - a phrase which
originated in the days of the Cold War, when the "super powers" had
multiple global destruction nuclear bomb-equipped ICBMs in bunkers,
on planes constantly in the air, & on submarines. The commanders
could press a "launch" button and thus deliver nuclear bombs,
ensuring global destruction. The Chemical Brothers turned this
"button" threat into a more generalized concept of the current
world running totally amok. Push the button! Get rid of it all.
Here's some visual art antidotes to the depressing button pressing
business. Why only two images? Why not? What do you want? Please
recall that during his life, Vincent v Gogh only sold two two
paintings - and they were bought by his brother. How things change.
